I am going to explain how you can get your psp softmodded with cfw.

1.check if you can softmod your psp with cfw,we are going to use the pandorra so check this if you can: You must login or register to view this content.
In my case> psp2000(2004)>datacode 8b or lower> pandorra

RF on you MS
1.connect your psp to your pc/laptop using an usb cable,and psp in usb modes.
2.download this: You must login or register to view this content.
3. copy/paste everything to your root on your psp(root is the first map on your psp usb,so just the letter)

CFW on PSP
this is the part where you softmod your PSP, using an pandorra/tool batterie.
Buy one or make one it doesn't really matter.

1.remove everything out your psp(umd,memorystick,batterie)
2.do your memorystick in
3.do your pandorra/tool batterie in
4. the PSP should go on itself and on the left top of the screen it says loading.
(if this isn't the case dont panic,just read down my tutorail for a way to solve this problem)
5.Now you are in the main menu of RF.control if on top is writting: Target FW: 5.00
6.choose option 2: Install M33 CFW(of version selected above)
7.now choose: format settings as well.
now you get loads of text,just wait till its done,if its done this is writting: all done press any button to continue
8.press a button of your choose
9.the psp is turning of himself,just wait till the light is completely out this takes a while,just wait.
10.do your normal batterie in the psp
11. turn on your psp,now you have CFW 5.00M33-4 have fun with it!

If only the green light flashes
It can be the ipl is not writting correctly, do this:
1.download this: You must login or register to view this content.
2.open: RainsIPLMStool.exe
3. you see this venster now: You must login or register to view this content.
4.do your memory stick in your psp,with your original sony batterie in it an go to usb modes.
5.in the ipl venster set target device to your letter of the psp,:F is my case.
you can check using my computer.
6.choose erase ipl from memory stick
7.choose execute selected
8.choose up timemachine ipl
9.choose inject ipl to memory stick
10.choose execute selected
11.wait till its done and go further with my tutorail from the beginning.

update your psp CFW to the newest version.
play games on your psp CFW that needs higher firmware(mgs peace walker for example)

That diagram is wrong, It states you can downgrade a PSP 3000 that has a Firmware of 5.03 or lower. This is Incorrect, It can run Chickenhen for homebrew, But PSP 3000's can 100% NOT be downgraded currently.

Edit : Same story for the PSP 2000 with a V3 motherboard or higher.
