To start I currently am running a PSP Slim 2001 with 6.20 TN-C
I enjoy being able to go online with TN-C but the more Homebrew I use the more bugs I find like with CWCheat today I was playing some Midnight Club LA Remix on my psp decided to add some cheats to speed the pace up of the game and as far in the game on psp as i am with my ps3 but cwcheat has been messing up and is making my games glitch and lag so its just not worth it anymore and im going back to 5.50Gen-D3

but instead of just using hellcats and flashing back to it im going to downgrade to 5.00 and go from there to help someone out.


So RULE #1 have a pandoras battery and a extra memory stick
(any mods with a problem with Links tell me and I will remove them but this guide will be link heavy)

To start off with the best option is a combination set always better to buy new than to reuse what you have seeing as you can easily screw your battery, here is a decent priced pandoras kit you can find them cheaper if you look.

now in order to downgrade you usually will need to make your mms yourself for that I recommend You must login or register to view this content.

Connect your psp to your pc and run PSP Grader 8 it should autodetect your psp and say the Drive Letter mine is K:\

click the download button on psp grader it will download 5.00 eboot

now check the Format Memory Stick option just to be sure.

Then click Create Pandora Stick (this may take a minute)

Now this part can be kinda tricky

Plug your PSP into the power supply ie. the wall

then hold down the Trigger Key which you may have set when you made your pandora stick default is L Button

and while holding it flip the power switch on

a screen will pop up saying

Install 5.00 M33
Install 5.00 OFW
NAND operations
Hardware Info
Test M33
Shutdown
Reboot Device

Now the way I do it to be safe is I Install 5.00 OFW first then I shutdown and reboot to the Pandora menu again then Install 5.00M33
Then Shutdown

once thats done you have CFW good job!
It is now safe to unplug your power cord and switch back to normal battery.

but thats not the end of my guide we are going to install 5.50GEN-D3 Final

and some other plug-ins
and homebrews too

SO onto the GEN Team

extract the 5.50PBP to the Root of your memory stick and open the PSP folder then the GAME Folder then the UPDATE Folder and take the EBOOT.pbp out and put it in the PSP>GAME>UPDATE folder on your memory stick.

exit usb mode go to game

then run the 5.50 GEN-D3 game

Choose Yes
then Flash Install CFW 5.50 GEN-D3

When Its Done Press O to shutdown and take out your MMS and put in your normal Memory Stick






OK NOW GET SOME HOMEBREW

OK For installations

SensME
put the stuff in the APP folder into the APP folder on your memory stick and put
Sensme_5xx in your GAME Folder




PMPlayer Advance 3.1.2
Copy the folder PPA3xx to your GAME Folder



PSN Lover
From the root of your memory stick open the seplugins folder
and put the file psnlover.prx in there then open
vsh.txt and paste this in it

ms0:/seplugins/psnlover.prx 1

OK now as you know im doing this all as I'm typing the guide now since I don't feel like testing this out to make sure it only needs to be in vsh.txt we will also copy it to game.txt and pops.txt



CXMB
This one is a little harder to explain ok so open the rar it came in.

Make a new folder on the root of your memory stick called CXMB

and copy the support folder, the conf.txt and te cxmb.prx to that folder
now go to seplugins open vsh.txt

and paste this

ms0:/CXMB/cxmb.prx 1

now to get a ctf themes

once your download has finished open the rar the only file out of that you will need is the .ctf

it goes in PSP>THEME folder






CWCheat

Open your RAR the only folder you really need is the INSTALL folder

open that put the cwcheat folder into the seplugins folder

the other 3 txts dont worry about them just edit those 3 that you should already have in your seplugins folder if you dont have them then just use those 3

on my main memory stick i have them but I dont remember where I got them or If they came with the cfw or if I made them myself idk.

so if you have them already just add this

ms0:/seplugins/cwcheat/cwcheat.prx 1

to activate CWcheat while your in a game Hold Select till it pops up takes about 3 seconds

press X on select cheats

find the cheats you want to add and click X on each one then press O
press X on enable Cheats
then O to go back to the Game


ISO Tool
possibly one of the hardest things to install but ill try to make it easier

OK first open your seplugins folder then your game.txt

add this

ms0:/seplugins/peagasus.prx 1

now put the 6xx 636 and prm folders in your seplugins folder along with the peagasus.prx file

put the auto_cfw folder and all the txts to the root of your memory stick

open PSP then GAME and you will see iso_tool put that in your GAME folder


iso tool is for games that have to be patched because they wont play when you start them so what you do is run your iso tool then find the iso that isnt working and press X then do a EBOOT decryot then Patch Prometheus and it should work now ^_^


If anyone has any more questions or if there is anything I messed up on please feel free to tell me or ask me whatever the case may be.

Just a quick update I'm currently working on a tut to add onto this about how to use NAND manager what its for and all that. Well to be more specific I had the tut almost completed but I couldn't get Remotejoy to work anymore and so without thinking or saving what I had written I held down the power button on my laptop and started hitting F8 to disable Signing thing needless to say when I restarted my google chrome I facepalmed and resorted to taking the pics for it with a shitty cellphone V_V but at least you can almost read it lol. Its something I want to start doing I want this thread to be filled with like every how to there is so just by reading this and following the steps a noob can jump straight to pro lol.

So that being said if you have any questions I will awnser them if I dont know the answer I will google it figure it out and get back to you. I will eventually take all the questions that are answered and add them to a FAQs section but I have a busy day today starting in about 40 mins so technically I could rewrite the guide by then but still need to organize pics and upload them so maybe when I get back otherwise it will be first thing in the morning.

well they have theyre differences in many ways its like the ps3 vs 360 thing and a touchy area its more what you like well as for compatibility then M33 is the better option because i have found some games that didnt work on 5.50GenD-3 that did on 5.00M33-6 but on 5.00 my cwcheat doesnt work it gives the games weird names and it doesnt recoginize them in cwcheat but on GEN it works great honestly what I did was I was on M33-6 and I used Nand Manager and made a back up of my M33-6 NAND and called it CFW 5.00M33-6 then I used Xgen Updater and got 5.50 GenD-3 and made a NAND back up of that so now within 60 seconds I can switch between M33 and GEN with no problems im going to make another nand back up of Prometheus soon just havent got around to it but its a program that works very well and anything i said in this post to all noobs if you dont understand it just copy the phrase into google and im sure within the top 3 posts you will find your awnser

ive got psp 1000 on ofw 5.50 can i update to 6.20 ofw then install 6.20 TN-C

Well I started using CWCheat then I switched to NitePR and I'm Back to CWCheat again I can't be too sure about stability because I have encountered errors with both. But one issue I have noticed is when I'm on 5.00 M33-6 CWCheat almost always gets the GameID wrong like
instead of being ULUS-123345 it shows as HBKYAJBD27S something like that and its annoying cus i have to change the cheat file and add the codes under the name it gave them which appears to be the same for all game so it messes with me. BUT I can't say that it will happen with you it may be because I have had just about all the CFW upgraded and downgraded so many times that I have files that I dont know which cfw they go to so it messes up my psp sometimes like my SensME channel randomly stopped working just haven't gotten around to fixing it. Also whenever I load a iso right about the PSP logo screen the screen turns black and doesnt show the video but I can hear the audio I just have to click screen brightness button and it fixes it but its pretty annoying to have to do all the time you know but I'm way off topic. So short awnser try them both with the games you have and decide what works I would recommend starting with CWCheat though

Dood psp hacking was the first thing I ever did just reading tutorials now 3 years later evrything is like 100x much easier....
I remember back then evrything was hard for every1 idk how I managed to do it... it seemed prety simple but now the psp scene is just like done for and psp is forever hacked now.... too bad I broke my psp cuz I didn't want it no more... ile probably buy one some other day and use all these new and improved tools....
