If you want to hack your PSP effortlessly without any pandora battery whatsoever this is the right thread for you. However this requires 5.03 OFW ( version ) or lower. Check your firmware by going to settings-> system settings-> system information . If the version writes 5.03 or lower you should be fine and your PSP system can be hacked.IF it's higher than 5.03 atm you CANNOT hack your PSP without entering service mode.

Your PSP can be hacked by taking advantage of an exploit ( bug ) found in 5.03 official SONY firmware that will enable a HEN ( Homebrew Enabled ) environment with the help of a Tiff Exploit named ChickHEN .

This applies to ANY PSP series out there . ( 1000 , 2000 , 3000 ) .
HOWEVER the brand new PSP 3000s and the unhackable TA088v3 Slim motherboards CANNOT be fully hacked yet. Every time the PSP reboots the PSP FW will revert BACK to OFW 5.03 , atm there's nothing to do about it . ( CFW can't be permanently installed into flash ) .
ANY kind of PSP FAT ( 1000 series ) and PSP Slim ( 2000 series ) hackable motherboards can be FULLY hacked using this method. That means the CFW will be permanently installed and more stable.

This guide has 2 main sections : Installing 5.03 Offical and Loading ChickHEN R2 and Installing Custom Firmware.

1)INSTALLING 5.03 OFFICIAL AND LOADING CHICKHEN R2



a)INSTALLING 5.03 OFFICIAL

Firstly, you CANNOT do this unless you hava a PSP with Version = <5.03 . To check your PSP FW go to Settings-> System Settings-> System Information . If the version is 5.03 , skip this part and follow the guide below to install ChickHEN . If you have a lower version follow this GUIDE in order to install OFW 5.03 .

-Download 5.03 OFW HERE: You must login or register to view this content.
-Connect your PSP to your PC via USB and create a folder in PSP/GAME named UPDATE.
-Copy the .EBOOT file in PSP/GAME/UPDATE.
-Run the update from your PSP .

Now you should have a 5.03 OFW PSP , just what you need in order to load the Tiff Exploit.

b)LOADING CHICKHEN R2

Some useful tips for those who can't get the ChickHEN to work :

-Restore Default Settings
-Set UMD Auto Start and Cache OFF.
-Make sure you have the h.bin file to the memory stick root ( NOT THE FOLDER , GOOGLE IT IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT MEMORY STICK ROOT IS )
-Make sure you're on 5.03 OFW
-Format Memory Stick. ( this will erase all the data from your MS so you'd better backup your files on your PC before doing it )
-Don't give up , just try and be patient.

Note that the files needed for PSP 2000 and 3000 series are different than the ones needed for PSP 1000 so don't screw it up.

FOR PSP SLIM ( 2000 & 3000 ) :

-Download ChickHEN R2 Easy to Load HERE: You must login or register to view this content.

FOR CLASSIC PSP ( 1000 ) :

-Download ChickHEN R2 Easy to load HERE: You must login or register to view this content.

-Copy h.bin to the Memory Stick ROOT .
-Copy ChickHEN folder to PSP/PHOTO ( create one if needed )
-Navigate to your PHOTOS folder , and enter the ChickHEN folder. And wait, you will see some images, these will start to load thumbnails.Go all the way down to the last image. Your PSP may freeze and reset. Just keep retrying and ChickHEN R2 will load up….But if you see flashing colors, your PSP will reboot loading the ChickHEN.

For those who can't load the ChickHEN files check above for useful tips and remember to restore default settings.

Check your PSP's version to make sure. If it's something like 5.03 ChickHEN R2 you should be fine and ready to install CFW.

2)INSTALLING CUSTOM FIRMWARE



ChickHEN R2 must be enabled.


If you have a PSP 3000 series , follow the 2nd tutorial b) * Installing CFW onto a PSP 3000 series and Slim TA088v3 MOBO's *

If you have a PSP Slim and you do NOT know if your PSP is hackable or not , follow the first tutorial a) * HOW TO FIND OUT WHETHER YOUR MOBO IS HACKABLE OR NOT *

If you have a PSP Slim and you already know you have TA088v3 motherboard that can't be hacked follow the 2nd tutorial b) * INSTALLING CFW ONTO ANY PSP 3000 SERIES AND PSP 2000 TA088V3 *

If you have a hackable PSP Slim motherboard and any Fat PSP follow the 3rd tutorial c) * INSTALLING CFW ONTO ANY PSP CLASSIC AND PSP SLIM HACKABLE MOBO *

a)HOW TO FIND OUT WHETHER YOUR MOBO IS HACKABLE OR NOT

ChickHEN must be enabled.Only use this for PSP 2000 Slim , it's useless using it on the other PSP series .

-Download PSPIdent HERE: You must login or register to view this content.
-Copy the PSPIdent folder to your PSP/GAME folder.
-Go to GAME and run the program

If your PSP Motherboard series is TA088v3 you CANNOT fully hack your PSP , so use the 2nd guide below.
If your Motherboard series is different than TA088v3 you CAN fully hack your PSP , so use the 3rd guide c) .


b)INSTALLING CFW ONTO ANY PSP 3000 SERIES AND PSP 2000 TA088V3

ONLY use this for PSP 2000 and 3000 series

PSP FW will revert back to 5.03 OFW when rebooted so try to keep it on standby. When you completely restart your PSP the system version should go back to 5.03 . If so , you will have to repeat the installation process for installing ChickHEN and then CFWe.
ChickHEN must be enabled.

-Dowload CFWEnabler 3.60 HERE: You must login or register to view this content.
-Copy the CFWEnabler folder to your PSP/GAME folder.
-Go to GAME and start the CFWe.
-Press () to reboot in the custom firmware.
-Enjoy

In the end , press SELECT while in XMB and change UMD Iso Mode to ''M33 Driver'' or ''Sony NP9660''. I also recommend formatting memory stick. Place your CSO/ISO games to the ISO folder on your memory stick root.

Do NOT mess up with the Flash no matter what you're doing if you don't want your PSP useless as a brick don't replace files , don't do any action involving the Flash you've been warned !

c)INSTALLING CFW ONTO ANY PSP CLASSIC AND PSP SLIM HACKABLE MOBO

Do NOT try this on any PSP 3000 or PSP 2000 unhackable mobo's this is only for PSP Phat and 2000 hackable series.
This will permanently install CFW onto your PSP
ChickHEN must be enabled.

-Download Recovery Flasher 1.60 HERE: You must login or register to view this content.
-Download 5.0 OFW HERE: You must login or register to view this content.
-Copy the Recovery folder to PSP/GAME .
-Also copy the 5.0 official update renamed as 500.pbp to PSP/GAME/RECOVERY folder .
-Go to GAME and run the program and install 5.0 M33-6 !

In the end , press SELECT while in XMB and change UMD Iso Mode to ''M33 Driver'' or ''Sony NP9660''. I also recommend formatting memory stick. Place your CSO/ISO games to the ISO folder on your memory stick root.
