(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); First things first, Not all PsP's are hackable. You want to make sure that you dont try to install CFW (Custom Firmware) when your motherboard cannot support it and brick (term for breaking your PsP)

There are 4 different PsP systems out there. Checking which one is as easy as removing your battery.

Here is an image of where the Series Code is:
You must login or register to view this content.

How to match your PsP with your Series:
1000 Series (Known as Phat/Fat)
2000 Series (Known as Slim or Lite & Slim)
3000 Series (Known as Brite)
1000n Series (Known as PSP Go)

It is very important that you do not match CFW that is not compatible with your PsP Series.
[multipage=Which PsP Series Are Hackable]
To determine which motherboard is in your PsP and if it is hackable or not, select your PsP model:

PSP Phat/1000 (1000, 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005, 1006, 1007, 1008, 1009, etc)
All 1000 Series PSPs are hackable.

Possible Motherboards:
TA-079v1 TA-079v2 TA-079v3

TA-081 TA-082 TA-086

PSP Slim/2000 (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, etc)
The 2000 Series take a little more work to determine if it is hackable or not. There are old units, new units, & really new units. The old ones contain Motherboards released before the TA-088v3, and are all hackable. The new ones have TA-088v3 Motherboards, and are either partially or not hackable at all. Finally, the really new ones; those have TA-090v1 Motherboards, which are hackable. (There is a discussion about the Hackability of TA-090v1 Motherboards)

The biggest question is how to tell whether a 2000 series PSP is hackable or not. You always want to avoid a PSP with the TA-088v3 Motherboard. I’m going to help you be able to tell if it’s Good (Has another Motherboard) or if it’s bad (Has the TA-088v3 Motherboard).

If the Firmware on the PSP is 6.35 or less, then the PSP is either hackable (Good Motherboard) or partially hackable (Bad Motherboard). If the firmware is higher than 6.35, then we know nothing.

PSP Slim/2000 series possible Motherboards:
TA-085v1 TA-085v2 TA-088v1
TA-088v2 TA-088v3 TA-090v1

I want to note that most of the information I know I learned through research. Not everything is 100% accurate. So, the best way to know if a PSP Slim/2000 series is CHA or not is to try to hack it using a Pandora Batter & Magic Memory Stick. If it works, then you know for sure it’s CHA. If it doesn’t work, the MMS might not be working correctly, the Pandora Battery might be damaged, or the PSP could have a bad motherboard (The TA-088v3 Motherboard).

1. Easiest Way to determine motherboard
You must login or register to view this content.
(Information is on the page [Source PsP-Hacks]

The original firmware that came with the PSP right out of the box is an indication of its Motherboard, & here’s the list:

3.60 Official Firmware: TA-085v1. (Best Motherboard, CHA PSP & Creates Pandora Batteries)
3.71 Official Firmware: TA-088v1. (Best Motherboard, CHA PSP & Creates Pandora Batteries)
3.72 Official Firmware: TA-085v2. (Good Motherboard, CHA PSP)
3.80 Official Firmware: TA-085v2 or TA-088v1. (Good Motherboards, CHA PSP)
3.90 Official Firmware: TA-088v1 or TA-088v2. (Good Motherboards, CHA PSP)
3.95 Official Firmware: TA-088v1 or TA-088v2. (Good Motherboards, CHA PSP)
4.01 Official Firmware: TA-088v2 (Good Motherboard, CHA PSP) or TA-088v3 (Bad Motherboard).
4.05 Official Firmware: TA-088v3 (Bad Motherboard)

This only applies to “Out of the Box” firmware. If it was updated and no one knows the “Out of the Box” firmware, then ignore this and move on. However, if you find ANY PSP with Firmware 3.95 or less, immediately know it’s CHA.

2. Limited Edition PsP
Star Wars Limited Edition, comes with 3.60 OFW & a TA-085v1 Motherboard. That’s the Best Motherboard out there.
Simpsons Limited Edition, comes with 3.60 OFW & a TA-085v1 Motherboard. That’s the Best Motherboard out there.
Daxter Limited Edition Pack, comes with 3.80 OFW & a TA-085v2 Motherboard. Good, CHA PSP.
God of War Limited Edition Pack, comes with 3.95 OFW & a TA-088v2 Motherboard. Good, CHA PSP.

PSP Brite/3000 (3000, 3001, 3002, 3003, 3004, 3005, 3006, 3007, 3008, 3009, etc)
The PSP 3000 Series are PHA/NHA (Partially Hackable, or Not Hackable at all).
Possible PSP Brite/3000 series Motherboards:
TA-090v2 TA-093

PSP Go/n1000 (n1000, n1001, n1002, n1003, n1004, n1005, n1006, n1007, n1008, n1009, etc) The PSP Go/n1000 Series are PHA/NHA (Partially Hackable, or Not Hackable at all).
Possible PSP Go Motherboards:
TA-091 & TA-094

Make sure you read this area, as it determines if your PsP is hackable or not! Smile
[multipage= Downgrading (If Needed)]
There are few easy methods to downgrade your firmware.
(NoteYou have to downgrade to the patch that is your CFW)

You must login or register to view this content.
    https://www.megaupload.com/?d=DO3NK2EK

To downgrade you will need the appropriate OFW (Original Firmware) to got with it.
(Most everyone should have 6.3x FW (Firmware) use this tool to downgrade)

When you have the downgrader downloaded, connect your PSP via USB to your computer and copy the file to:
PSP: > GAME: > Drop here

(Same with the OFW/CFW/Tools)
[multipage=How to Downgrade > Upgrade to OFW]
First download the Downgrader and the OFW and add them into your GAME section of your Memory Card.

PSP:> GAME:> Drop here

Run the downgrader FIRST, click X on the questions. The system should restart and bring you to the Update screen. Click X and start the update.

(If you happen to choose a perm patch tool, (Pro-B3+) run the perm patch after your on your OFW, follow the onscreen instructions, click X on the first question and O on the second question.
[multipage=List of OFW]
Refer to You must login or register to view this content. page, with pre-directed links to OFW download. (This site is safe and tested, guarenteed)

Remember to also copy and drop the OFW with the downgrader in:
PSP:> GAME:> Drop here
[multipage=List of CFW]
Refer to You must login or register to view this content. page and You must login or register to view this content.(This one is M33 CFW), with pre-directed links to CFW download. (This site is safe and tested, guarenteed)

Remember to also copy and drop the CFW in:
PSP: > GAME: > Drop here

There are MANY CFW's out there (about 20).
Ive heard positive comments from:
5.00 M33-6
6.20 Pro B-5 (Which i use)
6.35 Pro B-5 (Not Perm, you can use Pro B-3)

So check around before you jump into CFW
[multipage=How to install CFW]
Once you are on the version of the CFW (say you want 6.20Pro B-5 CFW, you should be on 6.20 OFW) copy and drop your CFW in your GAME section and run it on your PSP. Follow the onscreen instructions.
[multipage=Coding Tools]
There is only TWO programs i use for coding.

NitePR
CoderPR

I originally started with NitePR and had a couple problems (may be fixed now), but CoderPR is made by NitePR users and added in more extras that NitePR left out.

All in all, CoderPR is slim and easy to use.

NOTE:This sites are tested and shown safe and easy to use!
[multipage=How to add your Coding Tools]
This is a bit of a tricky part, requires some editing and saving.

When you open the folder it will contain 2 folders, SlimPSP and FatPSP, choose your according system and use those files only.

When you download your Coding Tool, it should give you 2 folders, nitepr/coderpr & seplugins

Copy and paste the coderpr AND seplugins file to the root of your memory stick.

Turn off your PSP COMPLETELY! (Hold the power switch untill it shuts off)

Then turn it on and hold the "R" trigger, it should pull up a screen (red and black color)

Find the plugins list and click on it, it should say inside of it NitePr or CoderPR Disabled click X on it and it will enable. Back out and restart your PSP.

Done!

To enable in game hit the Home buttom twice and press both volume buttons ( - ) and ( + ) at the same time.

The Music symbol next to select enables/disbales cheat mode.

To add a code list to a game, hit your volume buttoms to open up NitePR or CoderPR and in the top right it should say (Example: USDF-98644) <=== This is similar to PS3 Codes in the devhd00 section. Write down the code in the top right, connect your psp. Go to CoderPR or NitePr and then go to cheats. If its not there already, create a New Text Doc. and name it the Code you wrote down. Then add codes in there, space between each new code.
