Get him to fly over a group of trees, like in Laguna Presa, and he needs to fly as high as possible. Then jump out of the helicopter and deploy your parachute (Press the jump button while falling). Move until you're certain you will land on the tree. If you did it right, you should now be standing atop a tree, I have confirmed this to work in Laguna Presa, don't know about other maps. This is useful for sniping, as you have a great view and hiding spot

yea i dont think this is a glitch...but hey i didn't know that pressing jump while in the air deploys the parachute! sooo thx! haha
