Gotta use a Shotgun as the 40mm GL / Shotgun gadgets don't work on them so you get the C4 instead

u can use anything that is not an actual assault gun so M1A1 thompson will give u C4, all shottys, M1 garand, G3 ect

the g3 is best its what I used when going for the demolition man trophy since I needed c4 and don't like messing with my recon settings aside from m95 to gol.
