After it missed it’s intended release date, the highly-anticipated DLC package for Left 4 Dead 2 has been confirmed for arrival this week. It is called 'The Passing', and developer Valve have promised that the DLC will bridge the gap between the events of Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2.
The first add-on for Left4Dead2 brings the original Left 4 Dead Survivors down south for a meeting with the Left 4 Dead 2 cast. The Passing DLC will also deliver new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay for the PC and Xbox 360. In addition to the new co-operative campaign and associated narrative, The Passing will include new arenas for Survival, Electronic Theatre Image Versus and Scavenge mode and introduce a new co-operative challenge mode of play.

The Passing will also include a new 'uncommon-common' zombie class, melee weapon, and firearm.
All off this will be available to Left4Dead2 players on Xbox 360 and PC when 'The Passing' arrives later this week.

The Left 4 Dead series has proven incredibly popular thanks to it’s incredible co-operative action and intense ranked multiplayer gaming, and 'The Passing' looks set to offer no less.
