Microsoft today revealed fiscal figures for it's sales of the Xbox 360, which amount to 40 million consoles sold since it's release in 2005. The 360 has been consistently selling at just under 10 million consoles a year, 27,000 per day, quite staggering. With Microsoft going through a current sales slump, with sales down 12% on this time last year, this is a huge boost to the console, considering how the PS3 has been going from strength to strength recently, with the release of the Slim and huge exclusives like God of War 3 and Heavy Rain. It'll be very interesting to see how Sony react, especially with a PS3 and 360 motion controller peripheral to be released. Microsoft are well and truly right back up there in terms of the overall console war.
