Literally about 5 minutes ago, I just watched the live streaming of new Black Ops gameplay, directly from E3. A brand new trailer has also been released, mostly featuring what was previewed in secret to members of the press a few weeks ago. There are also a few brief glimpses of completely new material. The first gameplay clip consisted of your character weilding a Magnum with Tactical Knife, exploring a network of what seemed to be secret Vietminh tunnels, or maybe a secret tunnel system created by the Black Ops unit to infiltrate behind enemy lines. Either way, there's some surprise ambush attacks in close quarters, in typical Vietnam guerilla tactics style. It all looks very claustrophobic and intense, with just your search light to lead the way. You can see a brief glimpse of this level in the brand new trailer.

The second, much longer clip is set deep in the jungle, with you storming a small enemy camp, guarding a helicopter which you want. Using the grenade launcher, you eliminate all the enemies and proceed to steal the helicopter. The jungle looks lush and vibrant, even on a regular video stream, the graphics blew me away. The dialogue is quick and witty, with your own character having a voice for the first time. The helicopter gameplay itself has already been previewed in several trailers, but here, we set it full length. The explosions are literally epic, and everything look very smooth and sleek, with no slow down or frame rate problems. You have a choice of weapons, machine guns and missiles, both impressive. Bridges are destroyed over the river you are following, and SAM sites are eliminated to avoid enemy fire.

Microsoft also announced that the Xbox 360 would release exclusive first releases of any Call of Duty downloadable content or add-ons in 2010, 2011, and 2012, in a brand new deal with developer Activision. Sorry Playstation users, more waiting a month for each DLC.
