Microsoft just can’t seem to keep their secrets. First we hear Windows Phone 7 has a possible leaked release date of October 2010, the new XBOX 360 slim was leaked by an Italian flash ad, and now Windows 8 details have been leaked by Microsoft’s PC maker partners.
So here is a little more details on the supposed Windows 8 and what it will include.....
WINDOWS STORE (APP STORE)
Think iPhone App store or Android Marketplace but with a Microsoft twist. Rumored to be named Windows Store. I’m curious if this is cross platform with Windows Phone 7, and maybe 360 support?
INTERNET EXPLORER 9
Another new Internet Explorer.... hopefully a lot better than previous and current versions, as Internet Explorer seems to be a 'wannabe' version of other major internet surfers, Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
WINDOWS 8 RELEASE DATE
Currently Microsoft is aiming for a mid-2012 release, which leads to estimates of a first beta mid-2011, and a public beta late 2011 which overall sounds pretty quick considering the recent release of Windows 7, but is it all about the money?
TAILORED WEB APPLICATIONS
Web based apps are one of if not the fastest growing software provider formats. Microsoft hopes to easily integrate this into Windows 8 and the Windows App Store. This sounds a really promising idea and will attract a lot of attention as it worked a treat for Apple and their iPhone and iTouch.
HUMAN PRESENCE SENSORS (Kinect)
The whole idea of 'Windows 8' has the potential to be great but whether it will or not is a different question. Kinect might just give us that. The Kinect experience on the 360 will go a long way to prove the concept, but having your PC log you in by scanning your face and locking when you leave the room does sound a nice, fresh and innovative which will no doubt bring in the buyers, if this new windows does come with these additions, I will be sure to purchase it.
DIGITAL MEDIA
While the leaked documents don't communicate the fates of Microsoft's myriad of digital media players (Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center, and Zune), there is still some very interesting information. Windows 8 will include support for new formats, including AVC HD (with chapter seek), 3D video, and multiple MPEG-4 formats for the web, and will improve MJPEG (webcams and still cameras), MPEG-2 (decoding/encoding), H.264 (encoding), and WMV. Additionally, Microsoft will expand the Windows 8 Play To experiences to include HTML 5-based audio and video in web pages. Another improvement but will this take the computing world by storm.
CONCLUSION:
Overall the concept of this, seems without a doubt great, hopefully better than current Windows 7 and Apples Mac OS X, whether or not this will live up to many expectations, it will be interesting to see if the product will materialise and what other new features it will include.
One for the future no doubt.
Your thoughts will be appreciated
Cheers,
Winty

Better idea, hold off a few years. Take the time to recuperate and fix the last two version you put out. I wasn't impressed enough with the issues that they had with Vista/Windows 7 to see them attempt to release a new windows so soon. I think they are just getting in over their heads. Don't get me wrong, they will never make either of the two perfect. However there are problems with both that could really use some immediate attention. Seems they just give up and start with a new version when they find too much major stuff wrong xD.
