Well this may be disappointing news for many who were looking to Geohot to hack the PS3. Over the last few hours Geohot (George Hotz) has announced his retirement from hacking. You will now find that his PS3, iPhone blog and Twitter page are no longer accessible however the reason for this is unclear as of yet.
I guess we can thank him for the removal of Linux and then letting us hang out there to dry.
The well-known hacker was able to access the PS3 system and a large part of the security mechanisms to bypass the console.
From publishing a new firmware update has lead to the installation not allowing for an alternative operating system because of security concerns.
Earlier on his Twitter, Geo announced his resignation from the scene.
His departure was kept to let's say relatively short text:

Then Geohot wrote his motives for hacking various entertainment devices. He evaded, for example, the security mechanisms of the iPhone out of pure boredom and said from the way that some people took the whole thing far too seriously - after all it is only a phone.
Unknown and Hunter have hacked MW2 for challenge lobbies which could lead somewhere into future PS3 hacking....
