(Sorry for the non indented paragraphs Microsoft Word in being a negro)

Noob Tubes, Painkiller and Commando, just to name a few. These are a few of the endless combinations of perks and attachments which irritate the most casual gamer and are yet to be fixed. These features of the game drive the players of the most played video game of 2010 game up the wall and to the point of literally smashing the disc. Although people are still getting worked up and still ramble on and complain about the obvious issues with the game, yet they continue to switch on their console and shove in Modern Warfare 2 and play the multiplayer day in day out. So is this the sign that actually all these flaws and errors have actually kept us playing the game?

Infinity Ward and more specifically Robert Bowling (fourzerotwo) are the geniuses behind these wonderful gamebreakers which haunt the game continuously. Robert Bowling first addressed the combination of the perks One Man Army (OMA) and the infamous Noob Tubes and the added bonus of Danger Close to provide a wider blast radius just to insure hit markers were a rarity. This deadly and irritating combination was first addressed in an episode of “Camp Hutch” with the man behind the issues “Robert Bowling”. He stated he would fix and address and potentially remove this deadly combination of perks which were put their to literally piss off the most casual gamer. People believed in Robert Bowling and gave him redemption for his errors.

Several months later and this combination is still ruining most of our Modern Warfare 2 lobby’s. Yet most people in the community still put in this game and party up with their friends and get Noob tubed left, right and centre. So is this just complete stupidity or a complete piece of masterminding from Infinity Ward. Do these annoying perks and issues actually keep us interested in the game?

At this point you are all thinking “No ****ing way!” Well look at it from a different perspective, the marketing and business perspective. These issues are yes annoying but do we play it daily or at least regularly because we “love to hate” and obviously there is the aspect that literally ALL your friends play this game. Do we put in the game and play it in the hope to find out OMA + Noob tubes are now rare?. Have these flaws actually kept us playing this game and love to just hate on it? Think about the perfect world where everyone was the same and people talked the same and things were just all the same, almost robotic. Personally if someone was almost robotic and did everything perfect, I probably wouldn’t be interested in them at all or if I was it would be for a short period of time. Someone who didn’t have flaws would quickly bore me and just put me off, if you put that into the sense of a game then to me it is very similar. If Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) was perfect in everyway surely it would just be the same and things would get quickly boring and tiring with little discussion about how it could be better.

On another note, more relating to the fact that most of your friends probably play this game over any other game out there at the moment. Could the fact that Modern Warfare 2 was so “over-hyped” after the HUGE success of Call of Duty 4 (COD4), that everyone rushed out to get it and then everyone soon realised this game was probably in most households soon after its release. Now that most of your mates play this game, it is becoming more of a social gathering and that isn’t available on other games due to the fact that there isn’t another game out there that is in most households. The hype of MW2 was just massive so now it has captured most console gamers it now has the power to do potentially anything it wants with the game and a majority would follow along and continue to ride the band wagon that Infinity Ward has smartly created.

A fine example of this grip that Infinity Ward and Activision holds on the Modern Warfare 2 community is the fact that it charges a ridiculous fee for 3 New Maps and 2 rejuvenated COD4 maps for a sum of $15.99 which is completely ridiculous and out of order. An example of this is the fact that Skate 3 made by EA managed to provide its community with FREE DLC, not to mention the DLC was impressive and was clear time was taken to produce this. The word “Free” is becoming less and less common in the gaming industry and not to mention the world, but there is a limit of what you can charge and Activision are seriously pushing these limits and this is just a prime example of the sort of grip they have on the gaming community.

These irritating and annoying perks that have yet to be fixed and all the issues with the game wont be fixed due to the fact that it already has a perfectly good enough grip on the community and they have probably got enough issues with their company as it is with key employee’s leaving and little will be done as far as key updates to patch and fix things because Modern Warfare 2 is almost over as soon as the next COD comes out, Black Ops. Although it may be tough to admit and many people no doubt will disagree, but really Infinity Ward and Activision have strategically used their grip on the community to squeeze every penny out of our pockets and let’s be honest, we paid out. They have kept our interest in the game as long as they had hoped for and no doubt until November 9th 2010 to give them the maximum money they could obtain. They have completed most of the goals with their game hitting most headlines all over the world in the gaming industry and lets be perfectly honest, they didn’t beat us, they “pwned” us.

This conspiracy is possible when taking account to the 10+ digit profit made by the game overall.

They knew it was going to be a hit; why not do research on the mind and how the teenage responds to situations.

I for-one believe it's possible.

Its just a game and thats what everyone fails to see, yeah they are getting their money's worth out of it but ppl could just set it down and walk away
Yeah ppl pay money for this game but there is no reason to think that they owned us because of their marketing techniques

Plus on the other side
OMA and NoobTubes are apart of the game, they were in COD4 and will be in Blackops so there is no reason to even bitch piss or moan about to people, its just a part of a game, plus some of the ppl out there who complain about the whole noobtube army thing are campers or boosters IMO.

So idk think this is a great thread and it is well thought out, but there is no point in some of this as ppl are going to continusly keep doing it no matter what ppl say, do or think

i don remember OMA in cod4 or W@W? n they didnt abuse of noob tubes... COD4 is so perfect, that i doubt there will be another game like that
