Sony have launched new gaming headsets this week. The gaming headsets have been created around extensive user research. Playstation 3 users was giving a questionnaire to fill out about what features they would like on the "Ideal Playstation 3 headset".

This headset supports 7.1 3D surround sound, This will be a excellent feature for First Person Shooters. The headset is called the DR-GA500. Sony released a headset before but it has fewer features it was called DR-GA200.

The DR-GA500 is priced quite well IMO. A good quality headphone will set you back $100 and a new sound card is $150+. The only thing is whether or not the quality is as good as the price (~150 USD).
Sony has become too mainstream. They are good at making T.V.s and etc, but for audio most of their stuff caters to people who can't tell the difference between a $300 headphone and a $20 skull candy. So they are relaxed on a lot of their features/quality and often don't live up to their claims. I just hope this headphone is not one of those times. It's too beautiful =(. At the very least I'll buy just the headset for my collection xD.

wait since when did we need 3d surround in our ps3 mics they are useless they dont work and crackle up and no one can hear u and nothing comes out of them except the in game lobby noise so how would sony explain us the ps3 users want with a $100 headset that actually has game noise like footsteps ect in your ear , what in game noise comes out of headphones ..... work for fps
