Call Of Duty:Black Ops has been announced to be shown at gamescom. Black Ops community Director, Josh Olin said this on Twitter.

Modern warfare 2 did get a showing at gamescom last year but activision kept everything behind closed doors. This year Activision will let everything loose and reveal all. The mutiplayer released for Black ops is on September the 1st, We will have to wait till then to see everything Activision has in store for us.

I don't think that it was overhyping that ruined the game. Personally, with me and 3 of my friends offline, we had more fun than you can imagine for MW2. I think the main problem was the people that constantly exploited the unfair aspects of the game. (and with splitscreen with friends, you have control over that) Of course the underlying problem to that is the fact the IW left the unfair aspects in the game and did nothing to balance them.
