A hacker on YouTube has claimed that he is testing the worlds first PS3 mod-chip. According to the hacker, the games can be loaded off an external memory device, and it supports all firmwares. He points out that it is still in testing stages, but nothing has been proved as of yet.

This is a great thing. I read some where there is a “chip” as like a USB key, but on sony's site they said for starters have to disassemble the console to solder 12 wires to the mod chip circuit board.Which one is true because above video not working well, not able to understand what is it exactly.
