Taliban characters in the upcoming game: Medal Of Honor

<font face="verdana" color="black"> At this moment in time, as I'm sure you know, NATO forces are fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan. The Taliban are an armed force of terrorists that commit atrocities daily. They kill civilians almost for sport. They are waging a guerilla war against UK and USA forces. Bomb disposal teams are in a living hell, IED's are practically everywhere. Around 7,500 IED's were used in 2009 in Afghanistan.

Medal Of Honor takes place in Helmand Province. This is the 'hot-point' of the Taliban. However, they can't bomb it since civilians are there as well. The war is tough and difficult. The people in the land are in terror of the Taliban and are murdered and abused by them. In Medal Of Honor Multiplayer (unsure about Single Player) you may play as the Taliban. This has caused outrage in the United Kingdom and some gamers living in Afghanistan and neighbouring countries have felt physically sick and couldn't move due to disgust after seeing the characters on screen. The Game is likely to be banned in the United Kingdom.

I am disgusted and angry. It's hard to believe any citizen of our country would wish to buy such a thoroughly un-British game. I would urge retailers to show their support for our armed forces and ban this tasteless product

Personally, I'll probably buy the game (if I can), however, I do see these points and while I believe that video games shouldn't be considered in terms of morality as reality I do understand and I'll probably only be slightly uncomfortable about killing United Kingdom Soldiers. However, in previous hit games such as the Call Of Duty series, you've been able to kill United States soldiers. These games haven't been banned in the USA.

To tell the truth, I hope that Medal Of Honor won't be banned in the UK. It's one of the biggest and greatest game series of all time and I'm excited that it's making a comeback. The United States Army is working directly with it, from a professional point of view it's had the best trailers for a video game yet. However, the Defence Secretary will have a lot of leeway and it's definitely possible that UK gamers won't see the game hit their shelves.

The format of the new Medal of Honour game merely reflects the fact that every conflict has two sides.

We give gamers the opportunity to play both sides. Most of us have been doing this since we were seven: someone plays the cop, someone must be robber.

What do you think?

Do a barrel roll!
imo, games should based on current events is in poor taste, and should be left until it is finished. 5 - 10 years time would have been fine ( assuming its over by then)

Really?
MoH did it right.
Let them play both side.
We aren't favoring anyone,
and it's just a game.
This won;t influence anything.
Get over it, UK. Let them play.

They should understand this is what its like in Real life, the main aim for this game is to allmost feel like you're there and feel the expericance but banning it? Just plain dumb make it 18 against the law for under age done and done simple.

it isnt banned , moh is getting released , they changed the name from taliban , socom was first in making taliban , wait socom wth, battlefield 1943 , the japs , W@W the germans omg , Cod4 oh no not the marines and sadams troops , look at the statue in crossfire def is sadam , erm should i go on , how dare the miltary and cilivilians have a pop at this game the military themselves have made a military game using real live scenorios that actually happened this is a fantasy war game ... who cares its tailban and uk troops , lets get a private match going called mushalla bro rubber dingy rapidz , its ok for film 4 to release FOUR LIONS which is a alqeda film that actually has bin laden in and bombings of london boots and the london maraphon , this is sad and people who kill people for a living and actually use brute force to kill people look at all the military operations abroad are any of them actually 100% worth doing it ,, , we went to iraq for wmd when sadam had previously disarmed and generals told usa that he disarmed , we gone to afganistan for bin ladin when he is in pakistan and we fight all other the world for pointless things and kill people for real so why is a game getting bad press i think medal of honor should donate 1% of actual profits to world peace or something better than any army on this planet would achive

i am ukimpact and i live in the united kingdom medal of honor is a game and its ok for a defence secrutary to banish a game due to its realism he should maybe withdraw from afganistan then if he so worried about the troops getting killed and the so called husband and wives and kids that have been killed there ,,,, what was kids and wifes doing in afganistan i never kno according to the defence secruitary .... so its ok to make a feature length film on the "moden war" and easy to watch alqeda website films on youtube displaying alqedas bombs , ieds , killing soliders , beheadings and snipers like the famous IRAQI sniper , none of these are censored from the uk to provide fear and terror in the eyes of uk citizens and people who are active online , moh is a good game i played the beta and enjoyed playing as the TALIBAN shouting mushalah brother and allah ackbar as i get a sniper shot across the map .

what are we fighting in afganistan anyway a load of taliban that arnt actually taliban who come and just want a fight with the "WEST" mostly muslims . maybe they should rename the taliban to terriosts like all the other games in the past NO why should they its a game , and dosnt matter what u call a factions we all kno who they are like cod4's Republic guard of iraq

AND YOU WONT STOP US THE GAMERS SAYING "IM ON TALIBANS TEAM " OT "THE TALIBAN WIN AGAIN"
people who are offended by a game should stop and look what the goverment actually do behind closed doors , torture , water boarding , sending people to other countrys to be excuted , totured , look at all the documentrys on war and how the goverment time and time again break human rights laws and let soilders beat and toture people in jails guilty or not , so the military want to start a war on the gamers and developers let them ill import my game and not pay any tax to support killings in other countrys

it would be intresting to see what the taliban think of this game maybe aljezeer should interview bin ladin on the game and how it reflects the taliban and the war

im white im britsh ,,,
