Activision is starting the hype machine for its newest aerial combat game, Apache: Air Assault. This is the first helicopter combat simulator from acclaimed flight sim developer Gaijin Entertainment, who was behind IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey. That game, released in 2009, was certainly an ambitious title. Apache: Air Assault appears to be no exception.
The game, which will feature several different flyable helicopters, aims to let you experience a ride unlike any other. You will be able to fly alone, or with a co-pilot in 16 multi-stage missions. Aiming to be as realistic as possible, real-world satellite photography was used to design the environments and allow the developers to bring this world to life. Just as much detail was also put into the simulation controls, in an effort to compel players to perform the precision and detail needed to complete these military objectives.
Apache: Air Assault lets loose on store shelves November 9, 2010 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
