Requirements:
Ascension w/ RTE
RTE .xex's
Dashlaunch
Jtag
Crossover cable or Jtag and PC connected to the same router

If your PC's network card is good enough you dont need a crossover cable, only an ethernet cable.

You cannot do RTE with the modded ascension version posted in here in the Reach modding section.

If you want to be signed into a profile, you have to sign in BEFORE booting the RTELauncher.xex, after launching it, you wont be able to sign into any profile, only temporary profiles..

extract the .rar
put the installer folder on a USB.
run the default.xex in the installer folder and follow the on-screen instructions


How to get tagnames and use tagfiles:

Put it in the SAME folder as your maps.
name it the EXACT same.
e.g. name of the map "20_sword_slayer.map"
.ini file name "20_sword_slayer.map.ini"

Step 1:

Get your Reach on your HDD or USB using any program that can do that (XeXMenu, Freestyle Dash, ...)

Now Copy the 3 .xex's (RTELauncher.xex, RTELoader.xex, default.xex) into your Reach folder..


Step 2:

If you have Jtag and computer connected to the same router you can skip this.

If ANYTHING is wrong in this step please correct me im not good with networking.

If you are using a crossover cable then on your computer, go to your network adapter settings, find your adapter for LAN, go to settings, there find "TCP/IPv4", hit settings, and now set your ip address to something..( e.g 192.168.0.1 ) and your Subnetmask to 255.255.255.0

Go to your Jtag and go to the network settings, give your self a static ip adress( e.g. 192.168.0.2 , this must NOT be the same as your PC), set your subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 and your standardgateway and dnsserver to your PC's IP adress

Step 3:

Go on your Computer, open Ascension, go to "Edit", "Settings" and under "XDK Name" you enter your Jtags IP adress (either the one you put before or find it on Freestyle Dash or something..)

Step 4:

Open Ascension on your Computer and launch Reach using the RTELauncher.xex..
You should get a notice saying "Ready to accept connections" and then "Listening"

Step 5:

After you started a game in Reach, open the map you are on in Ascensions and start poking values

Step 6:

Ok, now you have your RTE set up, but dont know what to do?
Dont worry ill help.
Let's see what awesome things you can do..

Projectile swapping:
You shouldnt do it this way, the other way a little lower is better, but this is easier in case the other one is too complicated for you
lol, tell me if this doesnt work, i cant test right now and i usually do it a different way


Dont use this..

Lets swap an AR bullet with a Rocket
1.
Open the proj(proctile) tab and find your AR bullet, Rightclick it and click "Swap Tag Header"

A little window will open and you choose the bullet to swap it with (in our case a rocket), then hit "Swap"

Now lets get advanced
First download the weapon plugin i have posted in my plugin thread, you can find the link at the top.

Go on your favouite map, open it in Ascension, and get whatever weapon you like(im taking the DMR).

Autoaim!
Let's start with Autoaim!
Set the Autoaim Angle to 4 and the range(s) to some nice vaues you like(if anyone has better values please share them with me, also you can try and play around with these values and see what you like.)
Dont forget to hit "Poke Changes" and there u go, Autoaim is on.

Zoom
2. Lets increase the Zoom just for the fun.
Change Max and Min Zoom to the same value (If a weapon has to zoom states, like a sniper, change both values to the 2 states you want)

Faster Firing
3. How about setting it up now so the DRM shoots as fast as we pull the trigger?
Change the max and min rounds per second to 0 (no boundries)
now the cooldown time to 0
dont forget to poke the changes. Done!

Unlimited Ammo
4. Now lets just add unlimited ammo!
Set the Magazine to -1 (bottomless clip, works for any weapon)
Poke Change, BAM!, done..

3rd Person
5. What else could we do? Let's say we wanna see our armor.. 3rd person!!
Find "Attachments" > "Flags" and look for the 3rd person checkbox..

Changing Projectiles
6. And now lets change the bullet the more advanced way, because this way you can change it to anything (not just different projectiles)
Just find the Projectile in the weapon you chose, click the "..." Button..
Choose whatever you want to shot, ill take Bipd, Spartan, you can choose anything you want, vehicles, armor abilitys (eqip), anything

Q & A:

Q: Do you need a Jtag for this?
A: Yes.

Q: When I try to run the RTELauncher.xex it just sends my to the dashboard, what to do?
A: You mostlikely don't have dashlaunch installed.

Q: When I try to open a map on Ascension, it gives me an error.
A: Make sure your .map file is not set to "read only". (Right Click > Properties )

Q: When I open Ascension all is see is Encrypted Tags! WTF?!?!
A: The Tags in Reach are encrypted, go You must login or register to view this content. for Taglists.

Q: I have the .ini files for tags, what to do with them?
A: Just put them in the same folder as your maps. Make sure the .ini files has the exact same name as the map and ".map" in the end.
