Microsoft released the updated dashboard, the 'Kinect dashboard', yesterday, and one of their biggest features which wasn't announced was the implementation of Anti-Piracy 2.5 or AP25.

The software checks the backup disc to ensure it is authentic. The first 2 games which will be utilizing this software are Fable 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops.

AP25 will affect systems with later version Hitachi drives , BENQ, as well as the Lite-ON drives. Al Samsung drives are incapable of reading the new Security Sector v3 (requirement for AP25) which in turn required Microsoft to turn off AP25 checks on any systems with Samsung disc drives.

If it works, there will be a way around it for hackers.

for all you people saying 'Hackers will find a way' , yes, they will find a way to hack, or mod, but microsoft are catching up, and fast.

I mean, They created the system, they know everything about it. They are one step ahead, before we even get started.

------------------------------------------------------------

Although the new Rebooter has been released for jtagged xbox's, the Kv's are now only lasting 10-20 minutes, and considering the cost of kv's( around $100 unshared), i consider going online on a jtag pointless, hence me thinking the new freeboot pointless.

Also, kv's wont last forever, in fact, they are already sparse, and with black ops out, people will basically be burning them, trying to get to the top in the leaderboards etc.

----------------------------------------------------------

And now the new dashboard is banning flashed systems. Im not suprised that it has finally happened, if it does work. They(Microsoft) have threatened flashed console owners that they will get banned before and have continuosly said it, but nothing has happened, except for the few unlucky people who couldn't stealth it.

saying what has been said, i have the new dashboard on my flashed xbox and still havent been console banned.... which makes me think microsoft cant live up to their threats.

-----------------------------------------------------

But whatever happens, i don't really care. as long as i can play viva pinata :p
