Gran Turismo 5, which will be releasing later this month, has been highly anticipated by gamers worldwide for quite some time. One of the things that gamers had been waiting for in particular was the vast amount of customization tools players would be allowed to use. Through the demo and online videos, it is apparent that Polyphony Digital has kept their word.

However, there is one key aspect of customization that has many gamers baffled: the inability to customize your ride's tires on standard cars.

Is this something to throw tables and chairs about? Certainly not, but granted all of the other customization in the game, wouldn't tire customization seem like a given? Take a moment to think about some of those cars that look like an empty piece of tin. Many of those cars have some of the nicest wheels you've ever seen. What's the first thing the new, excited driver gets for their old, beat up piece of junk? Tires.

Although Gran Turismo 5 is still going to have much more customization than ever before, it seems that the developers overlooked an aspect of customization that to many hardcore driving game fans is an expectation after having waited so long.
