Lead singer Axl Rose of the world-wide famous band Guns 'N' Roses is attempting to sue Activision Blizzard for breaking the contract they made in Guitar Hero II, & later Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.
The reason Axl Rose is doing this is because in the contract they agreed to not use former guitarist of the band, Saul Hudson, also known as Slash.
In court Activision Blizzard then convinced that no references were made to Slash in one of G'N'R most famous soung, 'Welcome To The Jungle'.

When Axl found out that a Slash-like character would be included in the game, as well as songs from Slash's current band Velvet Revolver, he immediately rescinded his agreement to include "Welcome to the Jungle" in the game. Activision then allegedly assured Axl those were only being used for a trade show.
When the release of Guitar Hero III surfaced, Axl was again not too fond of what Activision Blizzard had done. They included a character in the game that resembles 'Slash', with a top hat, long curly hair, and a nose piercing. Also the soundtrack of the game includes a few of the songs from his current band, 'Velvet Revolver'. Included with all of Rose's complaints, was the advertisement of 'Sweet Child 'O' Mine', another one of their most well-known songs, for an online promotion, although they were only licensed to use it in Guitar Hero II.
Activision has currently not commented on the case.
