Sony's Mike Hocking has recently announced that they have working holographic demos in their studios.

Hocking then explained how they were working on the actual 3D, and the head tracking working together.

He claimed they have more external games of 3D coming out in the near future for Playstation 3 users, and how their working on alot more. Some of these not-so-far away 3D games include popular titles, which will make Sony alot more money, and make them alot more popular throughout the gaming community. They're hoping to get 360 users to convert to Playstation because of their advanced development in gaming.
They are not stopping the 3D Holographic gaming, they will be working on it for a long time until there are games perfected so they can be released.
