Recently in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada a father found sexually explicit messages in his daughters Playstation messages from a Resident Evil 5 player. The man then started saying sexually explicit things to the father.

"It was scary," said the father on Tuesday. "He started saying some very obscene things to me. These are openings to potential sex offenders, really."

Although the obscene messages were not directed towards his daughter, it was so sick & disturbing that he called the police right away and an investigation is now under way.

The very disturbed man claimed to be a 22-year-old male from a different country, and he also claims he has been messaging his daughter for roughly 2 months via e-mail.

There is not any evidence about the e-mails being the same as the Playstation messages, but he was obviously trying to get something if he's talking to a 12-year-old girl on Resident Evil without her parent supervision.

If you're a parent & your children play videogames that you're not so sure about, check their messages every once in awhille, it's not butting into their privacy, you're just trying to keep them safe.

For all of you guys saying the dad should of checked the rating, shut the **** up. You know most of you guys were playing M rated games before you were 17. Your parents are just as bad as him.

The real issue at hand is the Playstation Network and Xbox live are a pedophile's play land. This guy could of easily sent this girl pictures of himself via a PSN/XBL message. It's too damn easy.

Not really. if a pedo wants to be sexually offensive over the internet he can do so in a 12 kiddie game where he would have alot more potential victims

its a crazy world that we live in, to me the father should be keeping tabs on what games his children are playing, 18 rated game, so that means he probably bought it for her too.
Now sick pedofiles who leave perverted, sick emails to children in my opinion should be banned from psn, hunted down by a group of superhero vigilantes and castrated.
