Firmware 3.55 Information.
[/u][/color][/size]This patch is to ensure Sony that nobody will be able to downgrade their Playstation 3 to 3.41, meaning you have absolutely no chance of getting your 3.55 to 3.50 or lower in Firmware.
If you want to downgrade, & you are currently at 3.50, I suggest not upgrading this patch because it is mainly preventing what you want to do.
In a few days people will be working on a new Downgrader due to this roadblock Sony has given the downgrade developers.
I personally have my own reasons to update, I only have one Playstation, & I'm poor so I can't get another one.
If you have any more news on this topic please post it & I will be sure to add it to the list.

Can anyone give some info on the 3.50 downgrader? Was it just with official jailbreaks or is it free now?.

FYI, few people have reported that downgrading disabled Blu-Ray playback, so if you play on downgrading, I'd back up your system first.
Might save your behind when/if you try to play a blu-ray movie.

I guess it would be easiest to have two hdd,s one with 3.41 and one one with 3.5+ , btw is it wise to format a drive before updating firmware, was wondering if sony can see traces of jailbreak data left over?

Don't really see why Sony goes through all this trouble to stop JB which is perfectly now legal. Sony is made up of just a bunch of Tryhards!! haha. You don't see Apple doing all this stuff to fix its software flaws.

Sorry, but the firmware is not stored on the HDD, and a good format should leave an HDD just like new

Sorry, but the firmware is not stored on the HDD, and a good format should leave an HDD just like new

I have seen my friend use it , its pretty cool im kinda waiting to get a cheap ps3 cause i have a 60bg BC ps3 dont want it MAC banned which i heard can happen, i would like to see if anyone has hacked some platinums and synced em on an official firmware, that would be pretty cool.
