As Spike's Video Game Awards approach, more and more hints are beginning to surface concerning what will be revealed. Many of the hints have been vague, not something that can be identified at first glance.
BioWare's most recent hint was a barcode, linked to the image shown above. The image is of a red herring, which isn't something that actually exists in nature. A red herring is something that is used to create a diversion. Clearly BioWare didn't put up a random image of a red herring without trying to hint at something relative to a diversion. What could it be?
There are a few possibilities, and of course others than have not been thought of / explored. They are as follows:
- It could infer that all of the hype being built around what BioWare will announce at the VGAs has just been a diversion for something much larger occurring behind the scenes at BioWare.
- Perhaps the red herring is meant to diverge us away from the rumors that Mass Effect 3 will be what the developer unveils. Whether or not the diversion is meant to diverge us from the truth, or to save BioWare from not being able to meet high expectations is unknown.
Feel free to examine the the barcode provided by BioWare for yourself. Let us known which of these inferences you agree with, or if you have some of your own ideas as to its meaning.
