This thread outlines how there has been controversy over the game Homefront and its storyline and contents yet Kaos Studios general manager Dave Votypka does not seem bothered about its effects.
Homefront is seen to be a very controversial game as the story line focuses on 'United Korea' invading america. As well as this the story line where fiction and reality are close together during gameplay. It is this that seems to be causing the controversy but Kaos Studios general manager Dave Votypka does not even seem remotely worried about what this could cause.

"It seems inevitable that there will be some that may not agree with the events in the game, or don’t believe them. The thing that should be remembered here is that this is a work of fiction," he explains. "It’s not a prediction, there is no political statement being made, and it’s not a condemnation of any current day situation, country, or person; it’s simply a ‘what-if’ scenario.
"The North Korean government has been publically vehement toward the West since the Korean War, so we’re not inventing anything new in this regard. It’s simply a stepping stone that a fictional scenario has been extrapolated from, and it has not been designed to cast the Korean public in a negative light.
"The game focuses on a military occupation: professional soldiers following orders that come from within a fictional alliance (the Greater Korean Republic) that is made up of Korea, Japan, and numerous other south-east Asian countries."
He seems to stress that this is only fictional and it always will be fictional, but it seems to be what people make of the game that effects how others will view it even without playing the game itself. But this 'what if' scenario could cause people to be offended, well there always is that select few that believe the game is singling them out. Another example is the explicit content that was shown in the game Call of Duty: Modern warfare 2 you could choose to take out the part of the game that meant you had to slaughter hundreds of civilians and this was once again a 'what if' situation that was based purely on fiction. What do you think, will this game really cause such controversy?
