Due to the new You must login or register to view this content. Sony has bestowed upon us Playstation 3 hackers, you are no longer able to downgrade your Playstation firmware from 3.55 to 3.50 to 3.41, making JailBreak devices pretty much useless, unless you already have a Playstation 3 on 3.50 or lower.

Now to the news, Playstation JailBreak devices have dropped from $100+ to less than $10 at You must login or register to view this content.. This has crippled jailbreak businesses tremendously, although for us hackers, it's a plus, if you don't have a jailbroken Playstation 3 already, & you're at 3.50 or lower Firmware, you're in luck! You've just got the discount everybody wanted back when 3.55 wasn't updated. So good luck guys, this means challenge lobbies won't be as popular anymore.

Depending on what your USB supports, you may or may not need a disc, if your USB can support the Hermes payload, you won't need discs.
If the USB you buy can't support it then tough luck pretty much.

How do we find out which payload the different USB devices support? For example, can the TI-83 jailbreak method support that payload? Is there a Wiki somewhere?

When purchasing a USB, the site you are buying from tends to have guides or a link to an external site with what software you need to download for the USB and they tell you what it supports.

I don't think TI 83 even supports jailbreaking.

Thanks. There is a list of devices that can be used to jailbreak the PS3--TI-83 being one of them (along with Nokia phones, iPods, etc). For these devices, how would you know which payload they support? Or does the payload only come into play if you use a device specifically made for PS3 jailbreaking?

Payloads are essentially programming languages, each doing different things. I honestly have no answer about where to find what payloads are supported, normally, wherever you find the specific exploit and there are a bunch of downloads for different USB devices, they will have one for PSgroove, PSJB, PSBreak, TI-84 etc. implying that yours can support it.

Yeah i see... but who says it is a 'PSJaillbreak' modchip? the one that cost $119 or something like that?

If you go the PSJailbreak website, there they have their contributors and will see that the site u put there is not one of them, also u see it doesnt even say PSJailbreak, maybe it is from other hackers.
