I will say that the Infinity Ward that I'm meeting with today is one of the most talented developers in the world. There's still a lot of talent and a lot of vision inside that studio, and if I had just woken up from a coma and never read a press release about Infinity Ward and just gone to my meetings with them, I would have walked out and said, 'those guys are the real deal'.

He then went on to praise Treyarch for their work on Black Ops:

Treyarch is of course going to remain a centrepiece of our efforts on Call of Duty, and they have been. From the beginning, they've been contributing. I think that they've broke through to another level with this game, I think that they really just put their head down, tuned out the noise, and got to a pretty elite level in terms of the game that they've delivered here. They will, of course, figure prominently into our future plans and management of the franchise.

Hisberg then added the following regarding Sledgehammer, who are set to make the next Call of Duty:

With Glen Schofield and their performance in Dead Space and what they've done in the past, I've nothing but high hopes for their contributions.

Pre-exodus Infinity Ward was the best (Jason West and Vince Zampella). Activision can keep lying to themselves all they want, IW is nothing now. They will milk the CoD franchise into the ground for as long as they can, but Treyarch and Sledgehammer (who?) are either incompetent copycats (Treyarch) or unproven / unknown (Sledgehammer).

Call of Duty is the phenomenon it is now because of Infinity Ward, because of Jason and Vince. The reason MW2 was not able to be all it could be is not because IW sucked, it is because Activision management is composed of liars and cheats. Activision wants AAA titles but doesn’t actually want to pay for them. Of course there wasn’t any solid support for MW2 after release; the studio behind it was gone. IW (Jason / Vince) cared about their fans, Activision doesn’t (you already bought the game; they don’t care if you are unhappy).

The most disappointing thing of all is the gaming community. Most are just uninformed sheep; they will keep paying retail for broken games.

P.S. Before I get all the "Black Ops is awesome" comments, or how it is so much better than MW2, or it is the best CoD game ever, or how ignorant I am, or Treyarch is God, remember one thing - Black Ops and WaW are just re-skins of Infinity Ward's games. Of course you like them, they are the same game. Go play CoD 3 if you love Treyarch so much...

I played a bit of Deadspace and thought it was quite good...
Not sure how the gameplay would be in CoD game, but I think saying Deadspace is $hit is a bit harsh. Just my opinion.

I thought Dead Space was a good game. The game is fun and well made. It can really only be faulted for being a RE4 rip-off, but at least it evolved the gameplay formula in a positive direction (unlike RE5, which is a turd).
