As you may have already heard that the highly anticipated Geohot's jailbreak has already been released. During the time when all that was going on, another hacker named solidpsycho from PSX-Scene is claiming to be successful with the downgrade.

With all this going on there is some bad news to go along with this.
-There are reports of this bricking Slim consoles, do not attempt to downgrade a Slim console with this method. Older Fat PS3's are reporting no issues. Also, after downgrading to 3.41 with this method, your PS3 will think its a 3.56 console. Once on 3.41 it is recommended that you then downgrade the traditional way to 3.15 firmware, and then upgrade the traditional way to 3.41 official firmware.

Updates: Unconfirmed[/color]- slims with firmware version 3.41 or below from factory will downgrade fine.

I am going to downgrade in sole purpose of having a working backup manager..

Can i use my ps3key to downgrade from 3.55 to 3.41 with the new method?
I already asked in 4 other threads but no1 reply's!

Yes it should, but you need a usb stick with the new downloaded Lv2 files and the modded 3.41 firmware!

I downloaded the modified 3.41 pup & the lv2diag file1/file2 and put it into the root of my fat32 2gb usb stick.(file 1 and modified pup)
But nothing happens when i boot, i dont get the black screen but it just starts up like it normally does only in factory/service mode.
I cant even get out of factory/service mode with the lv2diag file 2!
So right now i cant downgrade for some reason and i'm stuck in factory service mode.
Please help i'm really stuck here.
