The next breakthrough in the world of Kinect-modding, developed by Garat Gallagher, is the ability to recognize hand-drawn buttons.
The hack recently won Willow Garage's open-source Robot Operating System contest. Gallagher is shown (in the video below) drawing four buttons with a piece of paper and a sharpie and uses them to control a basic sound board.
