It appears that some mischievous rapscallion has leaked details of the next map pack for Halo: Reach, entitled the '

efiant Map Pack'. Screen grabs taken from the new maps show lots of lovely trees, mountainous terrain and one of those big Covenant orbital laser thingys in a dramatic red sky.
These leaked images and details were originally published on Halo fansite, Halo Destiny, where the offending material has since been removed, lending it added credibility. Why would Microsoft and Bungie be so eager to remove leaked material if it was fake, eh?
As per the Noble Map Pack before it, the Defiant Map Pack will bundle three new multiplayer maps. These are called Condemned, Training Preserve and Unearthed. Condemned will offer support for 4-12 players and is likely to be a new favourite for Team Slayer matches, apparently.
Training Preserve is the largest map of the three, supporting 8-16 players, meaning that it's more than likely a new Invasion map too. Finally, Unearthed is a new Firefight map, which is reportedly the same massive battlefield as 'The Ark' in Halo 3.
Check out the blurry screen grabs lifted from Halo Destiny and posted a flickr account, and look out for official news on Halo: Reach's Defiant Map Pack in the near future. Because as ever, these screens and the info should be taken with a grain of salt until Microsoft and Bungie decide to step forward with a 100% legitimate confirmation. Got that? Good.
