A new update has been released for Gran Turismo 5.
The main contents of the update are as follows:

[Major Changes and New Features]
Friend Rankings
In Drift Trials and Time Trials, you can now display leaderboards that shows only your friends. While it was difficult before to locate your friends in the general leaderboards, this now makes it easier to compare your lap times and points with them.


[Fixed Issues]
- Performance points (PP), which is an index of a car's overall performance, is now calculated regardless of your tire selection. You can now set performance point restrictions and tire restrictions separately when you race in a lounge.
- Fixed the issue where the performance of electric cars increased/decreased after a certain amount of driving.
- Downloaded replays from Seasonal Event Rankings can now be viewed properly.


[Other Changes]
- Cars worth over 1,000,000 Cr. (including gift car coupons) are now prohibited from being traded to prevent issues during the trading process. When lending and borrowing cars between friends, please use the car loan system.


[To Check Your Current Version]
To check the version of your game, press the "Manual" button at the bottom of the main menu screen. The version number will be located on the upper left of the index page.

If the number starts with "Ver. 1.07", you are playing the latest version of the game.

If not, please press PS button and quit the game. The game will be updated automatically when you restart it with your PS3™ system connected to the internet.

GT5 patch blocker/by-pass maybe? You might be able to send cars worth over 1 million. I doubt the restriction is done server-side, so until someone tries blocking 1.07 and sending a car over a million we won't know for sure.

You can still trade X1s. i've just done it. Don't believe me try it.

They've changed the daily sending limits from per account to per console ID, INCLUDING paint chips, and I just forgot to backup my save before sending myself some colorshift paint chips, LOL DUPE FAIL /facepalm

I did successfully dupe a certain *coughprototypecough* hopefully I'll be able to send it on to my friend tomorrow, cause we both have like over 20,000 miles on our current ones.

I tried it when it first came out, before updating it. But it will not let you connect to the server.



I've tried it, and it gave me a message that it can't be given/gifted to a friend.

So if you have 2 PS3's with diffrent accounts, you can still send cars?

Gift Car Restriction Temporarily Disabled

We had disallowed gifts of high priced cars in the 1.07 update, but because there was not enough prior notice we are temporarily disabling the limit.

The limitation will be re-enabled as of March 3, 2011. Depending on your network enviroment, the timing may vary slightly, so if you have plans to give or trade high price vehicles, please do so within this time.
