Post: [32x32-256x256][Windows]HD Texture Pack Installation On 1.3
02-26-2011, 02:20 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); For the sake of this tutorial I will be using Misa's 64x64 texture pack from the official MC forums, because quite simply it's my favourite :p

Currently now on 1.3 there are many (texture) mods made incompatible, but a list of them plus the original post (and unnecessarily complicated instructions)on the MC forums can be found You must login or register to view this content..

Downloads(warning- some direct download links):
- You must login or register to view this content. & You must login or register to view this content..
- You must login or register to view this content.
- A fresh, clean version of You must login or register to view this content., as other mods tend to conflict with the patcher. If you have already used the Minecraft launcher, then delete everything in the C:\Users\user\AppData\.minecraft\bin directory so that the launcher downloads an un-modded copy.

Instructions:
1) Download all of the above.
2) Run MCPatcher and check the "texture pack" box, then browse to the downloaded texture pack. The one I linked you to is called "Misa180".
3) The patcher should auto-detect 64x64 after a few seconds, if not then something's wrong. However, if it has auto-detected the resolution then you can go right on ahead to step 4.
Optional: Un-check any boxes of modifications to the textures you don't want, although I recommend keeping all the boxes ticked Winky Winky
4) Click the patch button and let the patcher do it's thing. If all went well, you will be greeted by a "Success...! probably." message. Now you can close the patcher.
5) Play the game and enjoy the HD-goodness! Dancing

Note: This tutorial will work with all other HD texture packs, just follow the same base tutorial =D

Any questions, just let me know below Smile

Downloading a new launcher doesn't give you clean files. You can select "Force update" in the new launcher so it will download new files upon login.

Yeah my bad, I'm gonna go edit that bit now. What I meant was to delete everything in the .minecraft directory Cool Man (aka Tustin)

If you delete everything in your .minecraft you will lose your saves, instead delete only the "Bin" folder inside .minecraft and the launcher will download clean files.
