After all the hype created from the You must login or register to view this content., we now know it's a hoax. Activision denied that this teaser site, "Findmakarov.com" was created by the publisher.
They issued the following statement to IGN:

"There seems to be a great deal of speculation about the next Call of Duty project. Let me be clear that we are not revealing yet. Anything indicating otherwise is a hoax."
Then when they were asked if Activision is planning on releasing any further information on Wednesday, the spokesperson replied "Nope."
