As we all know, a lot of games set to be released on a certain date get pushed back. Here’s a list of a couple of games predicted to be delayed.

This game was announced in 2006, and as of now, a release in 2011 in highly unlikely. We’ve only been revealed a couple pre-rendered trailers, but nothing in the game play area. Square Enix has been tentative about putting a release date on it, and Tetsuya Nomura [Character Designer for Enix] openly stated that he doubts that the game will be released in 2011.

BioWare isn’t notorious for delays; however, with this game, they just might be. The material we’ve seen so far on this game is quiet encouraging, yet the license and development costs are pretty pricey. If the game isn’t up to par, BioWare is likely to push the release date in to 2012. This way, the product will nicely be polished and bug-less.

Shiguru Miyamoto’s humiliating on-stage demonstration might have edged him to really get things corrected. Due to comments being made about making this Zelda stand out, it’s key that they take their time with this game. Since the launch of the 3DS, Nintendo isn’t really looking for another huge break. As the profits from that launch are comforting, Nintendo is going to take their time with this game so the final product is near perfection.

Take-Two’s [T2] Max Payne was originally scheduled for 2009. As time went by, the game was pushed to 2010, followed by 2011. Recently, T2 removed this game from their 2011-2012 release schedule as well. That doesn’t assure it being pushed back, but the odds are unlikely. We haven’t heard much about this game since it’s announcement, therefore, giving it much less credibility for being released this year. To further it, there aren’t any pre-lease marketing plans either.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier You must login or register to view this content.
Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Future Solider has already been pushed back a couple of times. The game is currently booked for the unclear period after April, so a 2011 release is still possible. However, no new footage of this game has been released since last years E3. In addition, Ubisoft has already obliged to a new Assassin’s Creed, which helps carry the company.

Rumors imply Team-Ico is pushing the release date for we haven’t seen much of this game. In Japan, this game was set to be released in the holiday season, but the same being said for the U.S. is questionable. The Last Guardian is equivalent to a genuine film, and the holiday season tends to release a lot of movies. It’s smart sales strategy to keep this imaginative game as far away from the release of new blockbusters.

Not much of this game was talked about after announcement. Konami, at a press conference, told people details of the game, rather than showing it. It’s said that the game might have a chance at being released in late October, and if not, 2012 is the destined year.
