Earlier, MotorStorm Apocalypse was delayed in New Zealand. As it happens, it was followed by Japan and now the UK. Sony froze the release out of respect for the masses suffered from the recent disastrous tragedies.

Sony's statement:

We are shocked and saddened to see the impact of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and our thoughts are with all those affected, including our colleagues within the Sony family, living and working throughout Japan.

We are very conscious of the parallels between these events and the underlying theme in MotorStorm and are doing everything we can to be as sensitive as possible to the situation.

Although the game itself is already in distribution, we are ceasing any further shipments and removing as much of the marketing materials as possible.

I agree completely with their decision as the themes in the game present a sensitive issue to the lives of many. Releasing the game now, due to the horrible timing, would seem rather tasteless.[/FONT]

Yea, but the timing of the release couldn't have been worse. It's a really sensitive issue for most of the world, especially the people in Japan, so I think gamers wouldn't mind waiting it out.

This really is a Smart move for the Developers of Motorstorm, It sure has saved them from a lot of Negative criticism for the similarities in the Game compared to what is going on in Japan atm.
