u need backup of the game ok lets start:
go BLxx-xxxxx (mine is BLUS-30631)-Ps3_Game-USRDIR-gamecrysis2-
and now theres a file gamedata.pak open it with 7zip or sth now u go
to difficulty and open something in texteditor
i open normal scroll down
and change

yay patch 1.01 came out before came was released it was to stop pirates from having to to an extent so u cant update just ignore it

Confirmed Working.. Deleted Game Data and Started the game on the hardest difficulty and now playing and having more fun with god mode..

Hey guys new to the forum, just a quick question regarding Crysis 2.
It sort of relates to this topic, I'm sorry if I'm getting off-topic!
So I loaded up the game for the first time, I got past the menu then GASP. It said I need to install an update, I think it was 1.01. I kinda had to install it, there was no option saying not to install it. So I install the file, it was around 19MB, and yea, after I installed it I get a screen that says...
" Game data is corrupt, you must delete game data."
So I go and delete the game data of Crysis 2, and reload the game.
Again now, I get the screen where it says to install the update, and I have no way to get around it, I either install it and the file gives me the same corrupt error, or I can't play it at all!
Anyone help =(

When you were asked to install patch, press O to avoid them. So now you should delete the Game Data(s) and try again.
