You will never be going at GT5 speeds on proper roads, and you don't have to carry out any signaling maneuvers, Driving in real life is pretty easy, it is just a matter of changing your actions to suit the surroundings, but you don't really get a feel for that in GT5.

i think it would help to an extent.. just like when I play golf games.. I have learned some stuff from them.. how to play certain shots.. when to take certain shots.. reading breaks..

same with GT5 I think.. it will give you an understanding of what you might encounter.. understeer, oversteer etc. I know when I was playing GT original.. It actually helped me some..

just remember your real car actually has damage mode on

ive been playing GT1-5 nd it doesnt help u know how to drive, my first go was pretty hard and in heavy traffic

well if you have a g25/27 wheel setup it may help you learn how to drive a manual car, even though pc driving games like LFS would help more.

me personally i learned everything from gta

lol r u crazy gt5 makes u have certain gears for corners but these gears r incorrect for eg. most corners which u would need 1st gear 4 on gt5 could be took in 3rd or 2nd or even sometimes can be took in 4th in real life gears changes r normally used for junctions

This game is harder than actually driving...

this game only really teaches you how to race, using the racing line aid on it kinda learns you when good points to break are and what speeds to take corners, of course nothing will come close to the real thing as theres more aspects in real life than in a simulator (feeling the road in real life, pot holes, wind resistance, actually steering the car and feeling it move). however there are some really good tips in the license sections that can aid you in racing, but not so much everyday driving.
