Hey guys im here to tell you 1.5 has been confirmed with new features such as weather here
are some features i will try to update this frequently

Confirmed features:

- Snow and rain will return and will affect gameplay.
- Thunder and lighting are added.
- Monsters spawning in daytime, outside during Thunder storms.
- Achievements and Stats are planned to be released in this update.
- Saplings for specific trees.
- Powered rails (minecart boosters) added.
- Pigs turn in Zombie Pigman when hit by lightning.
- Rail Detector.
- Allow-Flight parameter for SMP (anti-cheat feature)
- A tree now drops less saplings.
- Occlusion culling added to Video Settings.

Possible features:

- More harvestable items ?
- Jump attack ?
- Bow Aiming ?
- Automated Harvesting with water droping seeds?
- Fence Gates ?
- Bee Hives in trees is something they’ve considered.

Confirmed Bugfixes:

- Water Flow back to normal.

Other:

- Piston mod won't make it to Minecraft 1.5 (sorry notch confirmed this will be in 1.6 heres a video of what it lookss like

1.5 next week!
We were aiming at releasing 1.5 this week, but no. There’s been significant feature creep (we’ve got powered rails now, and lightning hitting a pig will turn it into a zombie pigman), so we don’t have time to get it out this week.

But next week!

info on weather:

-Lightning can set wood on fire.
-Rain will put fires out.
-Rain does not convert lava into obsidian.
-Thunderstorms darken atmosphere, allowing monsters to spawn outdoors during day.
-If pigs get hit by lightning, they turn into zombie pigmen (read: Awesome!).

I have a 78.4mb world and a stadium made out of wood, if that gets hit, OH DEAR. Oh well, my other, 160,000 capacity stadium made out of Double stairs will have to do :carling:
