EA recently announced its upcoming Need for Speed title, which is going to be called, "The Run." The game is set to be released for the 3DS, PC, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 in North America on November 15th, in Europe on the 17th of November, and in the UK on 18th of November.

The most exciting news about this game is its focus: underground racing. It's said to be set as a high speed race series across the U.S. from San Fransisco to New York. Black Box are the developers of this game as well. EA stated, "EA Black Box will spend more than two years of development time on The Run to make sure this is the most action packed and finest cinematic racing experience in NFS history." Also, The Run is using DICE's new frostbite 2.0 engine, which is the same engine BF3 is going to be run on.

EA's first trailer is sure to tease and tickle the minds of all the fans who can't wait for this game to be released. After all, I'm sure every NFS series fan wants a newly developed, underground based, NFS game. The environments of this game are stunning and according to the trailer, they seem to range from thick urban traffic, dry desert plains to icy mountain passes. This game is looking like a Hollywood style, explosive filled and action packed product. We however won't know much more details until a later time.

Check out the first teaser trailer that EA has released:

According to EA, this game will be equipped with intense storytelling, and "cutting edge performances" portraying "a world with no speed limits, rules or allies". It's about time EA got back into the underground based NFS series.

YESS!! Finally, a true game that deserves the NFS title, not like all the other series, they were gay, underground series is the best, free roam, customise, race other drivers. I'm sure this will kick ass when it comes out espicically with the new Frostbite 2.0 engine.

I'm not so sure about that, I didn't like Hot Pursuit, but I can see them doing better, EA's always been good

Well to be hones t NFS Most Wanted and Shift 1 were my favorite and I do not believe its like COD because there is always more to be added. COD will get old switching between the same time periods. This game is a must-buy because they are also returning to the formula that worked which is the underground run from the cops type game

It will only be good if they actually implement some customization. The past few haven't had as much customization as the classic ones like Most Wanted, and Carbon had. The depth of them was one of the reasons I chose NFS over the other racing games. If they bring it back, this game will be sure to compete with the next Call of Duty.
