Apparently, a "senior, trusted, well-placed" source is saying that Microsoft is more than likely to be announce the Xbox 720 in the upcoming E3 on June 3rd. So far, the 720 is noted as an "very early build with no casing – it is in fact being stored inside a PC shell."

The anonymous, yet highly trustful source also added that "quite often when new consoles come around they’re packaged into a PC shell, but actually what’s inside is an entirely new console.” He went on to say, "“Why let Nintendo steal the thunder in June [At E3]? It doesn’t want to lose momentum. That’s why I think Microsoft is rushing to make an announcement at E3.” Stealing Nintendo's 'thunder' is a nasty, yet clever business move. All of this is based on a couple speculations and the information was given by an unknown source. However, this certain source was labeled as a senior and very trusted one. Still, there isn't much we can do really except to wait it out until E3.

Rumors are saying it will be 2014, enough time for the price to drop on some of the new hot technology. Sony doesn't want to have to sell a console at $800 again.
