I bought the LittleBigPlanet 2 game first day, and as I progressed, I realized that you can use items from LBP1. But the thing is, I deleted my LBP1 game save data.

I tried using the saves online but they didn't work because it would not allow me to use a save data file from another owner.

Yeah I had the same problem. You can still copy over any levels you had published from LBP1, also you can go to the store and download LBP1's creator pack 1 for free (contains the jetpack) and the other free costumes. Other than that you'll have to play through LBP1 again for the story items...:\
