(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I would like to start by saying these are my personal favourite plugins, they are by no means the best and you shouldn't just rely on this thread.
If there is a plugin you need yet can't find, it will most likely be listed on the You must login or register to view this content..

The downloads for all of these plugins will be provided on the last page in a zip folder, this will save you time setting all the plugins up, and will save me time through the virus scan Happy.

If you need any assistance installing them, just leave me a message in this thread or a VM and I will be more than willing to help Smile.

[multipage=Setting up a server]
First of all, you are going to need a Bukkit server, if you have not got one already, I suggest reading this tutorial to help you set up one for first use; You must login or register to view this content..

[multipage=Guest Prevention]

GuestPrev is a lite anti grief plugin designed to provide basic protection against griefers.
Although It does not contain as many features to it's counterparts (Namely BigBrother, it is in my opinion, one of the easiest and helpful plugins around.

[multipage=Essentials]

Essentials, as the name suggest, is a large collection of widely used and useful plugins, all placed under one jar file.

All of the commands for Essentials can be found here, You must login or register to view this content. ,
I would have liked to post the commands on this thread, but there are far too many Happy

[multipage=No more rain]

Recently, Notch added weather into minecraft.
Although this was a brilliant addition for single player, it gets very tedious and frustrating when all of a sudden it snows and your beautiful minecraft gets covered.

With this plugin, you can disabled and stop this from happening, meaning your creations will be left safe and sound Smile .

[multipage= Mining TNT - Choose what TNT destroys]

If you have ever experienced TNT grief, you will know how annoying it is; with one click some jerk can destroy one building that took hours of work.

Not anymore.
With this plugin, you decide what materials TNT can damage and destroy, leaving your minecraft creations safe from this explosive menace.

Originally posted by another user

Features:

  • Causes TNT to destroy only stone by default
  • Other blocks can be added to what can be destroyed by TNT.
  • Allows height restrictions for TNT.
  • All settings can be found in MiningTNT.properties.
  • Creeper nerf can now be toggled on and off.

Setting up this plugin is a bit more complicated than the others, you can't decide what it destroys in game, and so it has to be done via MiningTNT.properties. (The download pack contains a pre configured version) .

Here is an example config file;

Mining TNT v 0.1 configuration
Add item ID's sparated by spaces for them to be affected by TNT.
Example:
//DestroyTheseBlocks=1 2 3 4 17
DestroyTheseBlocks= 01 03
MaxAltitude=70
CreeperNerf=true
CreepersActLikeTNT=false

This example shown is configured so that TNT can destroy smooth stone and dirt, the numbers "01" and "03" represent the materials data values (Stone and dirt).
The data values can be found on the link below.

[multipage=Wolf Spawn]

Essentials already comes with a mob spawner plugin, but it lacks the ability on how to spawn the wolfs characteristics, and at which player to spawn them at.

Originally posted by another user

Features:

  • Pet wolf respawns when it dies (at player or spawn)
  • Permissions
  • Can 'release' wolves to stop them respawning
  • Can spawn wolves near players tamed, wild, or angry

toggle the ability to release your pets, they won't respawn.

/spawnwolf player <wild|angry>
Spawn a wolf near player. Omit 'wild' and wolf will be owned by player.

[multipage=Help Center]

Help center is an useful plugin designed to help new members ( And members with small memories Happy ) to get a grasp of and understand the plugin commands.

Most plugins either have a really long /help name, or do not have one at all, meaning this plugin is a must have in my eyes.
It works be reading the text files contained within the plugin file, letting the user fully customise the help files and decide which commands he wishes to show the other users.

Originally posted by another user

Features:

  • Compatible with Craftbukkit running Minecraft 1.3x
  • Word-wrapping for those long lines of text
  • Dynamic: any changes to the helpfiles are reflected immediately to the players.
  • Directory traversal protection (trying "/help ../../../../../../../etc/passwd" will not work)
  • This plugin will support as many helpfiles as you can possibly create.
  • It can fetch web-based helpfiles via HTTP.
  • C o l o u r s ! (see codes below)
  • Default helpfile with randomly-chosen help item capability (otherwise will pass-thru the
  • /help command if typed in without any arguments)
  • Helpfile redirection!

I have provided a pre made help file in the download pack Smile .

[multipage=Login Message]

Login message is a small plugin which allows you to fully customise the greeting message when you login.

Normally, Essentials displays a welcome message, but I found this message dull and annoying to configure everytime, so I removed it and used this message plugin as a replacement .

Originally posted by another user

How to Use:

When you download the plugin pack, there will be a folder called "LoginMessage" inside of the plugins folder. Inside, you will find three files...
LoginMessage.txt
BroadcastMessage.txt
Settings.properties

I haven't really touched the Broadcast message, only the LoginMessage.txt, so look inside that for an idea of what to put Happy .
I configured the Login message, all you need to do is open it in a text file and add your own greetings Happy .

[multipage=Other Plugins]

Inside the plugins folder, there are four other plugins which I have not listed; FastObby, HomeX, iOP and SpawnX

All of these plugins are very useful, but they don't really have enough commands to each have their own page, so I'll list them here...

HomeX
