As promised, Sony is now giving us a free, 12 month service for the AllClear ID PLUS program. AllClear ID PLUS is an identity theft protection plan that'll help keep you protected from fraud, identity theft, etc.

Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Network Entertainment have made arrangements with Debix to offer AllClear ID PLUS to eligible PlayStation®Network and Qriocity account holders in the United States who are concerned about identity theft.

AllClear ID PLUS is a premium identity protection service that uses advanced technology to deliver alerts to help protect you from identity theft. The service also provides identity theft insurance coverage and hands-on help from expert fraud investigators.

Come on, it's better than nothing. They're doing their best. I never expected anything like this. I think it's a good gesture.

They should have protected that information before all this. Sure they are acting now, but it has been over a month of downtime. They allowed information that should have been hard as hell to get easy accessible. I understand your point, I am not mad, just very disappointed. I like sony, it just makes it that much harder to believe this happened.

I understand your point too; I can see where you're coming from, I guess my post was aimed towards some people's attitudes over the past few weeks rather than you yourself. They should have protected the information, I agree, but I think Sony feel bad enough to not have people snipe them any further. Their credibility has been hit, they've been hit financially, etc. It was a bad, bad situation, one that shouldn't have happened, but they did and are doing their best. Like I said, I wasn't expecting free identity theft protection for the next twelve months. All people seemed to want was free games and free PSN+, which they'll now get - and the free identity theft is just a great gesture and an added bonus.

Agreed, it just feel so much a little too late.
