(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});Okay I used to have Windows XP, and ran Minecraft under it flawlessly. Then XP became buggy, and filled with viruses and broke beyond repair. The repair disc couldn't fix it! Anyway, I was going to reinstall it, but decided I would try Linux instead. So I got Ubuntu 10.10 and a .jar version of minecraft, and it gets really laggy. I dont know the specs of my computer because I never checked, but I could run Minecraft, Cod4, Counter-Strike, and all under XP with no issue. Is it Linux? Can I fix this without going back to crappy Windows? I love my Ubuntu
Linux should run it perfectly, it sounds like a problem with your PC. Have you made sure all of your hardware drivers are up-to-date and compatible with Linux?
BTW: I'm on Linux and I both host and play on my server with absolutely no lag.
