After Microsoft’s official E3 press conference today, much controversy brewed surrounding the corporation. To many, it seems as if the company themselves did not showcase a powerhouse of content within the time to come. Although all have an own opinion, there were indeed things which any gamer can agree were positives, and without question done right.

A big eye opener to many was the incredible amount of support in the upcoming future for the ‘kinect’. Shown was a wide variety of games which will make use of the hardware in order to take gamers to the next level of involvement. Titles such as Mass Effect 3, Sims 3 pets, Family game night, Ghost recon: Future soldier, and numerous EA sports features are now confirmed to have full kinect support for users. When the device was originally modeled last year, many often questioned the life span of the hardware and how far it would go. For those of you whom watched E3, Microsoft was sworn to ensure kinect stays in future plans as those who purchased the peripheral will not be disappointed.

Next on the list is the modeling and extra additions to Xbox LIVE. For those of you who do not currently know, Microsoft is bringing Youtube into the console mix in an acclaimed future update. Also, bing search engine is among one of the things to be promised within the timeline as well. Though there is not a full based web-browser, these two major announcements are something which will get any gamer excited.

Moving on, Microsoft’s E3 game lineup featured some titles which received mixed reviews. Though starting the day with Modern Warfare 3, this not being an exclusive, came the announcement that the gaming giants would once again receive the DLC at an early date. Any Tomb Raider fans in the house? If so, this was the time you were waiting for. Unveiled to the public eye was a look into the upcoming new title which seems very impressive. Featuring numerous graphical improvements, along with well structured gameplay, Microsoft displayed with what could be referred to as the game of the hour. Noted as well were that games in the near future such as UFC, will consist of unique social features only available to those on Xbox Live. A remake of the classic Halo game was also promised, alongside some other great displayed titles. Finally came what many were desiring, this being the announcement of Halo 4. With a slight teaser, fans who follow the series are now clamoring for it’s release. No matter what other cards Microsoft had in their sleeve, they knew Halo would appease the fans.

Wrapping up some final details, Microsoft has provided some extra information for upcoming features. Just like Playstation did, Xbox 360 will also possess the ability to utilize cloud storage media in the near future. Beacons will also be coming out which will allow friends on both Facebook /Xbox to know it is alright to send you a game invite.

Though many believe much more should have been done, at the end of the day, Microsoft did not come up short. They featured some well rounded material which ranged from kinect support, to additions coming via XBL. These promised updates will unquestionably improve the quality of the console and help ensure some dominance in the on-going console race.

Shiver do you lift?
I enjoyed Microsoft's performance, I don't see what they did wrong, Im sure that if they were going to announce games, then they would let the other companies at E3 who make the games DO it for them.

spending vbux, offer me..
bing on the xbox... who the **** bings on a computer where bing is for, let alone on a ****ing xbox

and kinect, yeah its all nice and fancy but some games just shouldnt be made for kinect! tom clancey games being one of them... i thought star wars would be a great crack but you cant actualy move your character, you just swing your lightsabre and it flys you to the nearest enemy and does it all for you

they need to climb out of kinects arsehole and make games for gamers (yes they did halo 4 and gears of war but still too much kinect rimming), **** all this making it for entertainment and connecting people shite... i talk to family and friends and share things with them either in real life or facebook and i use my xbox for playing games

I've seen aload of articles saying MS had a good E3, I'm like are you insane??
Unless you love Kinect (who actually does) what was there for hardcore gamers? exclusive wise just forza, gow and halo everything we expected nothing new.
It showed the complete lack of exclusives when the only games they could show were all multiplatform.

Personally I wasn't too impressed with Microsoft's line up. Yes there were interesting and eye catching things, but in my opinion I saw very little in the way of real innovation. Some may argue that the additional features for the Kinect, such as voice recognition, were very innovative things, but I believe that Microsoft fell short of their potential this year.

I give them a 9/10 on presentation. And 3/10 on content.

Microsoft don't care about the Hardcore gamer.
Microsoft cares about money, and there is much more core gamers, and people who like the whole all-in one machine than us Hardcore gamers.
So whats the best way to make money, focus less on the Hardcore, and more on developing a Home Entertainment system. They focused way too much on Kinect.
I bought my Xbox 360 so I could sit on my fat ass and play Call of Dooty until 4 in the morning, not jump around my sitting room like some fat ass mom trying to lose weight on the Wii.
Stop shoving exercise down our throats Microsoft.

Bring on the Sony Conference.
