Last week we saw the release of the first free to play games on the Steam network. Much to the welcome of many it seems that the mother company of Steam, Valve, will be making it's own free to play title.
In an interview with a French website, the vice president of marketing for valve, Doug Lombardi, laid it out simple. When asked if Valve would be developing a free to play game, Lombardi simply said "Yes".
There is speculation that Valve's Dota 2 title is likely the free to play title. While there is no information confirming this, or even telling whether they have started work on their own free to play title, it is certain that Valve will be making one
What are your opinions? Do you think it is likely that Dota 2 will be a free to play title? If not then what game do you think Valve will be developing for free to play capabilities?

Well it is yet to be seen whether or not it will be a Steam only title or a Console and PC title. We can only hope though.

It is already I think. At least it is free for this week, don't know whats beyond that :p I'm downloading it right now, as long as they aren't going to charge me later, it is currently free
On topic, Valve is awesome, steam is awesome, and I will gladly support anything they do because they are one of the few companies left who give a crap about their customers.
