You have to have purchased the game to play it on the regular client. But, you can google a cracked client, and you will be able to play without buying it, but you wont be able to play on servers unless they are set up to work with the cracked client.

Or you can just play the classic/creative mode for free :y: but yeah you need a cracked client i have one in my minecraft mega thread :y: which is in my signature!
