First things first. I know this has been posted, I'm just making this because I've seen that the other thread was missing some important information. I've asked the mod Dylan for permission and I got it. So let's get started! Smile

Rating: Not yet rated
Genre: Sandbox
Publisher: Mojang
Developer: Mojang
Release Date: November 11, 2011 (currently in beta)

Minecraft is a sandbox construction game. It was created by a person that goes by the name of Markus Persson. Also known as Notch. The game is really fun. You can build anything of your choice. The game involves creation and destruction of three-dimensional blocks.

Minecraft is made up of blocks. The blocks generated make up dirt, sand, stone, coal, water and even lava in this crazy world. Each world is randomly generated unless you choose to load a seed world in single player. Single player mode is a basic survival with a day and night cycle. Nighttime is one of your biggest fears. Mobs spawn and attack you. Your main enemies are Skeletons, Zombies and Spiders. Zombies and spiders will just follow and hit you (though spiders can climb walls), while Skeletons can shoot arrows at you. So don't forget to make a roof and put a door on your house. Smile

Minecraft is currently in beta, available to players for €14.95 (~$21/~£13). Beta singleplayer and Beta multiplayer, when purchased, can be played in the user's web browser, or using the downloadable client.

The Creeper. Ah, this little green creature. It’s black, dead eyes will bore into your soul as you stare at the one that seems to have found the door to hour house and sits and stares at you from the outside. Waiting for it’s chance to hiss and destroy you and everything you’ve created. I like to call him, NinjaCreep. Why? He is as silent as nothing. It will sneak up on you while you get wood, dig, and build. The only moment you will know he is near by is when you hear a hiss. You turn around and BOOM! It explodes destroying everything. It will make a HUGE hole into the ground.

[multipage=Surviving and experience ]

To enjoy minecraft to its maximum fun level, you will need skills. Luckily, it's quite easy to get the hang of it. The approximate time is about 3 to 4 hours. I learned it in 3 days because I didn't have internet so I went to my friend's to play it.

To survive, you will need some tools. Find a nearby tree and get lots of wood. Open your inventory by pressing "i" for Mac users, "e" for Windows users. Then get one block of wood and put it into the crafting area. Notice you will get this:

You must login or register to view this content.

Get the wood planks and put 1 block in each square like this:

You must login or register to view this content.

Notice that you will get a square with some tools hanging on the outside. Drag it into your inventory and and put it somewhere you are most pleased with. Then make more wood planks. Go ahead, use all your wood. There's no use if it is the wood by itself. Next, you will be making sticks.

To make sticks, do the following:

You must login or register to view this content.

Be careful! Don't use all of them! Leave at least 6 planks unused. Now get three sticks and fill up the middle row, placing 1 stick in each square. Now get your unused wood planks and put fill up the top row. Like this:

You must login or register to view this content.

Get your pickaxe. You are ready to go mining! You may make 2 picks if you please as wood runs out fast. After you have that, hunt a place of your choice to start mining. Dig up the sand and/or dirt with your hands. Once you get to stone, you will find it a bit harder to break with your bare hands. Now get your pick out. And hit that rock like there is no tomorrow! Faster, isn't it? Good. Collect your cobblestone and mine on! Once you've reached these, feel free to get them:

Iron ore: You must login or register to view this content.

Coal: You must login or register to view this content.

They will help you get improvements. The iron ore will allow you to make an iron pick. This will increase your mining speed, being more durable then wood. The coal is a whole different story. You need a furnace to use it. Make a furnace like this:

You must login or register to view this content.

A furnace is used to melt things such as iron and gold. Once you've got that, get more wood if you don't have any left. Make some sticks if you don't have it. Now get 1 stick and put them in the boxes. Get one piece of coal and put it on top of that.

You must login or register to view this content.

Notice you get 4 torches. You will need many more to continue mining. So don't hesitate to put a lot of sticks and coal there. Wondering why you need torches? It will give you better vision at night and mining often becomes dark very often, so put torches on walls for better vision.

Once you've collected enough clobblestone, you are most likely ready to build a house. Pick a nice calm area for you building. If you see sand or dirt, take it out and make a square plot. This will make your house look neater. Build you house and set torches around it.

You will need a bed to forward nighttime to daytime. The materials are wood x3 and wood planks x3. To get wool, you will need a shear. Shears are used to get wool from sheep without hurting them.

You must login or register to view this content.

Now make a bed like the following:

You must login or register to view this content.

To sleep right click while pointing at it. You will be sleeping in seconds. You wake up, it's day. Time to build! Happy

Also known as The Nexus, The Slip, and Hell. It was added in Minecraft Alpha version 1.2.0 on October 30th, 2010 (The Minecraft Halloween Update). The Nether can be accessible via a portal. The Nether also contains Block types not seen anywhere else, as well as supplies of Block types found on the normal world, like Mushrooms, Gravel and Lava. The Nether is home to two Mobs very uncommon on the overworld: Ghasts and Zombie Pigmen. The Nether's role is to be a second map in the player's world. When it is entered, the chunks from the above ground map are unloaded and the Nether chunks begin to load. Terrain generates infinitely here just like on the above ground map. If the player dies in the Nether, their items will stay there while they respawn on the above ground map.
