In the world of console gaming there seems to be a never ending fight over what system is the best. 360 this. PS3 that. The amount of argument over the matter causes ones head to spin. But what if there was something that that met in the middle?

Well maybe these consoles don't really compare to the real thing, but they could still be worth your time and money if you are a hardcore gamer.

To start off we have the Arcade Box. At first glance (Picture below) you would simply think you are looking at an Xbox mismatched with a couple of PS3 controllers. Look again This system is in essence an emulation machine that is encased in a cross between Microsoft and Sony products.

Arcade Box (Picture):

This system includes 54 built in arcade games, but also emulates many older games. It will emulate Game Boy Advance, Neo Geo and CPS1/2 (The hardware that was used to support old Capcom arcade games) games via SD card. This thing sales at $69.60 and will no doubt keep a gaming enthusiast entertained for hours. I would also dare to say that someone with some technical skill would be able to install emulators for anything from the PS1 to the Gamecube on this thing.

The Arcade Box isn't the only crazy knock off out there. Check out some pictures of more crazy crossed console contraptions below.

So what do you think? Would any of these be worth the money? Do you think that such a collection of odd consoles is a waste of plastic? Or is this the coolest thing you have set eyes on? I think all this is pretty damn cool.

I've seen many of these around the web, from iPhones to Gameboys to PS3's and honestly most of them (all of them) are poorly built and aren't worth the money compared to buying another console. The only reason people buy these is for the looks and the fact that they can "play a gameboy game on PS3." Maybe fun to show off, but definitely not worth the money and horrible quality.

The only one I could give exception to that is the Treamcast. An obvious Chinese rip-off, but that thing did a hell of a job on making it semi-portable.

Haha, that's way before my time, but I just looked it up and it actually seemed pretty useful. It makes me think of an xbox360 portable. Now if anyone can find a portable xbox360 or PS3, then I might re think my view on knock offs.

More than likely, these consoles are all a piece of crap. But awesome article though, I enjoyed reading :y:
